The 84th birth anniversary of Late President Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam was celebrated as "Reading Inspiration Day" by Shailendra Degree College in the recently renovated library. A series of guest lectures were organised for the students as follows :
1. Importance of the Library - by Principal Dr. V. M. Ingavale2. Life and Times of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam - by Prof. Dr. Swati Pitale.
3. Importance of Reading Books in the Present Scenario - by Prof. Ajay Acharya
4. Literary Works of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam - by Prof. Sony Paul
The program was well received by the student and all pledged to start reading books henceforth.
